Unlimited database content - All content is stored in a database. Websection nodes can manage, store, and publish unlimited content. For each node the system provides seven content type options: Article Database content, Product Database content, Business Database content, Date-based Database content, Static Database content, Evergreen content, and Messageboard content. Each of the seven Out-of-the-Box content types are managed based on different content rules.
Implement content taxonomy - Organize content with unlimited nodes(parent) and sub-nodes(children) as content repositories. Within each node content is entered as database entries. Content can be further organized by unlimited database sub-types.
Easy Add and Edit content - There are two ways to add or edit content. Authorized users can view the website in the Edit mode which is the site with edit links on the page that link to the content edit form for the content on that webpage. Or they can use the Edit Database Entry workflows from the node the content originated from.
Edit Mode Website Views - Authorized Content Editors can view the website in the Edit Mode. The Edit Mode is the published website with "Edit: and "Add" icon placed on the page that provide direct links to the content edit form or the content add wizard. This mean the Content Editor can easily navigate to the webpage where they want to edit or add content.
Metadata Management - KnowledgeControl allows administrators to enforce proper metadata management and enables content editors to easily edit metadata within the editor interface. Metadata fields can be configured to deliver Content Editors default metadata that they can edit as the entry requires. There are numerous benefits associated with appropriate metadata management, including ensuring that the site search engine delivers accurate and relevant search results to site visitors and tweaking the metadata for better results from Internet search engine for public websites.
Cross-Posting (Content (Sharing) - Content Cross-Posting (Sharing) allows content editors to select multiple directories or channels to which to assign the content they are working on, either at time of creation or later on in the process. Cross-Posting increases productivity by enabling reusability throughout the site or between sites and also allows users to repurpose content for other uses like syndication and wireless deployment.
Rich Text Formatting Controls - Web designers specify the level of formatting control content editors have within each field in each content entry form. Editors might be given the permission to add their own HTML within certain fields (for instance, to add a custom table or image), or they might be given the ability to use basic rich text controls to manage the style of their content. Web designers can even employ style sheets to define styles that content managers would be able to use with their content.
Media and Image Upload - Editors can easily upload images and media file types including images, video files, sound files, Macromedia Flash, Adobe PDF documents, and a myriad of other file types. No FTP access is required to upload files.
Scheduling of content - Content can be scheduled in two ways: a) with only a "Start" date/time, or b) with a "Start" and an "End" date/time using the Datebased Database content type.
View staged site prior to approval - Logged in users view changes or new webpages before they are approved to Go Live. All changes and new webpages must be approved before they can be published. This assures that all content is reviewed by a Content Manager. Content approval workflows can be configured to notify the appropriate Content Manager that content as been changed or site pages as if all content changes had been approved and are currently live on the site.
